Top-order batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned a recall to India's starting lineup for their upcoming Asian Games semi-final clash against Sri Lanka. Having sat out the previous narrow victory over Japan, Sooryavanshi rejoins the team as they look to secure their spot in the tournament final at Korogi Sports Park.
During the previous five-over fixture, India struggled to 32 for four after batting first, with Shreyas Iyer providing an unbeaten 16 runs. Despite a determined effort from Japan, who finished on 30 for three, India managed to defend their total by a two-run margin thanks to economical bowling performances from Washington Sundar and Axar Patel.
