USPro criterium star Luke Elphingstone, 'a Michael Matthews kind of rider', among three national champions featured in younger Project Echelon Racing squad for 2027

October 30, 2026

Project Echelon Racing is revamping its squad for its fifth campaign at the UCI Continental tier by shrinking the overall rider count down to 13. This roster contraction drops the group's average age significantly from 25.5 to 22.6 years through the addition of five fresh faces and eight returning members.

Team director Eric Hill highlighted the squad's transition phase, which features several returning national champions and rising prospects. Among the incoming and retained talent are Luke Elphingstone, Jérôme Gauthier, and Kade Kreikemeier, alongside veterans like Tim McBirney, Brendan Rhim, and Colby Lange.

Conversely, seven familiar competitors have departed due to retirement or transitions to different athletic pursuits, including Eric Brunner, Ricky Arnopol, Stephen Bassett, and Laurent Gervais.
