Falcons rookie Anterio Thompson says he was diagnosed with career-ending 'genetic mutation' in spinal cord: 'I was told I would never play football again'

Atlanta rookie defensive tackle Anterio Thompson shared on his social media that a previously undetected spinal cord condition will force a premature end to his playing career. The defensive lineman received the medical diagnosis just two weeks after being drafted by the franchise in the sixth round.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted during a media session that there are currently no fresh updates regarding the player's medical status, while the team keeps him on the roster in a reserve capacity.
