Southern California has issued a one-game suspension to linebacker Desman Stephens following a dangerous late hit and subsequent celebration directed at Oregon quarterback Dante Moore during Saturday evening's contest. Head coach Lincoln Riley condemned the behavior as completely unacceptable, while Stephens formally issued an apology expressing remorse to the signal-caller and his family.
The incident occurred in the second quarter of Oregon's 41-27 victory, resulting in Moore departing the field via stretcher and ambulance after his head collided hard with the turf. Stephens will be sidelined when the eighteenth-ranked Trojans host Washington in their upcoming matchup.
