The Miami Dolphins conducted several roster adjustments on Tuesday. The team signed Zane Gonzalez, a 2017 seventh-round pick from Cleveland, to their practice squad after he had previously been released with an injury settlement following a preseason stint on injured reserve.
This move comes as the team waived Riley Patterson, who struggled with kickoffs and was 7-for-0 on field goals this year, despite a 93.1 percent success rate and three 50-plus yard kicks last season.
Head coach Jeff Hafley noted that the team's failure to execute touchbacks was a primary concern. In addition to Gonzalez, the Dolphins promoted rookie Rodney McGraw from the practice squad to the active roster and released edge rusher Andre Jones Jr.
The team also waived cornerback Storm Duck, a 2024 undrafted free agent from Louisville who had recently returned from a PUP list stint following a knee injury.
