Can Tennessee football avoid letdown at South Carolina, other SEC picks | Adams

Georgia leader Kirby Smart offered a striking perspective following an upset against Auburn, noting that invincibility lasts only a week. Meanwhile, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel faces a similar danger as his squad prepares for a hostile road environment at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Volunteers enter this matchup following a decisive win over Alabama, boosting their record to six wins and one loss. However, past collapses by the Gamecocks in conference play highlight potential vulnerability.

Elsewhere in the conference, LSU prepares to end an eight-game conference road skid, while Alabama looks to rebound against Texas A&M following consecutive defeats. Freshmen KJ Edwards and Aaron Gregory provided bright spots for the Aggies in a previous blowout win against The Citadel.

Finally, Oklahoma prepares to face Mississippi State as quarterback John Mateer attempts to cut down on costly turnovers.
