UNC's Bill Belichick Gets Candid on QB Billy Edwards in Loss to Notre Dame

North Carolina struggled to pull off an upset at home against third-ranked Notre Dame, falling after giving up 241 rushing yards and four touchdown passes to CJ Carr. Tar Heels quarterback Billy Edwards threw two early interceptions, finishing the afternoon with 208 passing yards, three scores, and two picks.

Following the defeat, UNC head coach Bill Belichick defended his quarterback to reporters, explaining that the offensive line failed to provide sufficient protection for Edwards to connect on deeper passing attempts. The team managed just 77 rushing yards on the ground and now faces a matchup against an undefeated Pittsburgh squad.
