Three things to know about matchup between Ohio State and Iowa

Top-ranked programs are set to clash this weekend as Ohio State prepares to visit Iowa for a pivotal Big Ten showdown that has also drawn ESPN to Iowa City for College GameDay. The visiting squad boasts a strong history in these featured broadcasts, holding an overall record of 48 wins against 21 losses, including an impressive 17-8 mark when playing away from home.

Meanwhile, standout pass-catcher Jeremiah Smith enters the contest on the verge of breaking multiple program records, needing just 10 additional receptions and a pair of touchdowns to capture the top spot in both categories.

The fourteenth-ranked home side will host the festivities in front of a packed crowd at Kinnick Stadium for their annual Black and Gold Spirit Game, maintaining a streak of 31 consecutive sellouts. Led by head coach Kirk Ferentz, the hosts look to defend their home turf following a hard-fought triumph against Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Oddsmakers currently favor the traveling Buckeyes as significant road favorites in what promises to be a crucial battle for both conference standings and the national playoff picture.
