Tennessee’s 26-10 victory over Alabama in Week 7 of the 2026 college football season drew attention from a notable recruit, as sophomore offensive tackle Jax Wilkerson attended the game at Neyland Stadium. The 6-foot-7, 297-pound prospect from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma, is the son of former Oklahoma linebacker Jimmy Wilkerson, who played alongside current Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel during Oklahoma’s 2000 BCS national championship run.
Jimmy Wilkerson, a standout defensive player with 130 career tackles and 12 sacks, passed away in December 2024 after a heart attack. Jax, a three-star offensive lineman, has drawn interest from SEC programs like Tennessee, Missouri, and Oklahoma, as well as several Power Five schools outside the conference.
His visit to Knoxville included meetings with the coaching staff and a firsthand look at the Vols’ game-day atmosphere, which he shared on social media with gratitude toward Heupel and other coaches.
