New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips recently shared his thoughts following a high-scoring opening match in the T20 series against India, where his side put up 225 runs for four wickets. Phillips noted the extreme difficulty of containing India's opening combination of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, whose explosive start during the run chase left bowlers with virtually no margin for error.
Samson scored 67 runs from 33 deliveries, while Sharma contributed 29 from 12 balls, sparking a rapid 93-run partnership that anchored the visiting side. Despite a middle-order wobble that saw India slip to 122 for four, contributions from Shreyas Iyer and Naman Dhir eventually secured a four-wicket triumph with just two balls remaining.
