Simi Singh: An Ireland dream, a life-threatening detour and the journey home

Simranjit Singh, better known as Simi Singh, originally departed India in 2006 to study hotel management before discovering an unanticipated path in cricket. He eventually represented Ireland during the 2022 T20 World Cup, followed by a severe medical crisis involving acute liver failure.

After receiving a partial liver transplant from his spouse, Simi Singh traveled back to Mohali to conclude a two-decade chapter abroad. He now remains active in the sport by operating a training academy dedicated to developing younger athletes.
