
Max Verstappen secured the opening pole position of the 2026 Formula One season by leading every stage of qualifying at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. The Red Bull competitor clocked the fastest time during all three elimination rounds and also led the opening practice session on Friday, securing his first pole since the 2025 Abu Dhabi conclusion with a lap of 1m35.130s.
Lewis will start alongside him on the front row for the upcoming race.
