Should Geoff Ogilvy return as International captain in 2028? | Subpar

Following a narrow 17-13 defeat at the 2026 Presidents Cup where his squad dominated the opening three days, former U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy is facing discussions regarding whether he should helm the International team once more.

Hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz debated the possibility on an episode of Subpar, noting that the 2028 tournament will take place in Australia, thirty years after the International side's sole victory.

While fellow Australian Adam Scott is considered a potential candidate for the captaincy or a dual role as player and captain, the podcast hosts ultimately endorsed Ogilvy for a second term due to his strong player relationships and lighter competitive schedule. The 2028 competition is scheduled to be contested at Kingston Heath Golf Club.
