Shai Hope confident West Indies can challenge India in ODI series

Ahead of a three-match fifty-over series against the top-ranked ODI squad, West Indies leader Shai Hope expressed optimism regarding his squad's readiness to face tough competition on foreign pitches. The visiting team enters this assignment following a difficult stretch in the fifty-over format, having dropped four of their previous five series alongside a two-decade drought against their upcoming opponents.

Despite historical challenges and upcoming qualification hurdles for the next global tournament, Hope intends to concentrate entirely on current execution and drawing motivation from past statistics rather than dwelling on them.

Personally holding a strong batting average against these opponents with nearly one thousand accumulated runs, the skipper emphasized the importance of mastering fine details and adjusting to unfamiliar environments. He views facing elite competition away from home as an ideal benchmark for evaluating his roster's true standing in the international game.
