Seahawks: Sam Darnold has a ' very unique soft-tissue injury' that didn't impact hip joint and is considered 'short-term'

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold went down on his team's initial possession during their Week 1 victory against the New England Patriots, which ended 13-10. The setback sidelined him for the remainder of the contest.

Preliminary diagnostic tests sparked fears of a cracked hip socket, which would have represented a much more severe outcome.

However, further medical reviews revealed that Darnold sustained a brief, highly unusual soft-tissue problem in his buttock area that spared the hip joint entirely. In response to the diagnosis, the passer is consulting four different medical specialists to gather supplementary opinions on the issue.
