Rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano is set to make his initial professional appearance from the opening whistle on Thursday evening against Jacksonville. Coach Jesse Minter confirmed the decision after injuries sidelined both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.
Jackson underwent a procedure on a damaged thumb sustained during the previous contest against Buffalo, while Huntley is dealing with a foot problem. Both veteran signal-callers are expected to move to the injured list ahead of the upcoming fixture.
Fagnano previously stepped in mid-game last weekend following Jackson's departure, finishing with ninety-one yards through the air, one interception, and a lost fumble. The former undrafted prospect out of Connecticut secured a spot on the initial roster following training camp.
The upcoming contest marks a crucial opportunity for the young playmaker as the franchise navigates mounting health concerns among its key personnel.
