The Los Angeles Rams’ kicking woes deepened this week after newly signed veteran Blake Grupe suffered a knee injury in his first game with the team. Grupe, who made a 44-yard field goal in his debut against the Arizona Cardinals, aggravated the injury while attempting to tackle a returner out of bounds during the first quarter.
The setback leaves the Rams without a reliable kicker for at least four weeks, as Grupe was immediately placed on injured reserve. This marks the third kicking change in as many weeks for the Rams, who previously cut Harrison Mevis and now face the challenge of stabilizing their special teams.
The team has since signed former Green Bay Packers kicker Brandon McManus to fill the void, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already shaky situation under head coach Sean McVay.
