The Los Angeles Rams have added veteran kicker Brandon McManus to their roster, marking their third kicker of the season. McManus, who previously played for the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Green Bay Packers, will take over immediately after beating out fellow free agent Matt Prater in a tryout on Tuesday.
This move follows the injury to starter Blake Grupe, who tore his ACL, and the recent release of Harrison Mevis. McManus, an undrafted free agent out of Temple in 2014, boasts a career field-goal accuracy rate of 81.4% and was 20-of-21 in 11 games last season with the Packers.
His signing ensures the Rams have a kicker for Sunday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, though the team’s ongoing kicker instability remains a topic of discussion among fans and analysts alike.
