The Delhi and District Cricket Association has brought in veteran coach Rajkumar Sharma to serve as State Mentor ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 domestic schedule. Announced on September 25, 2026, the appointment forms part of a wider restructuring of the organization's coaching personnel.
Sharma previously managed the senior Delhi squad during the 2020-21 campaign, acted as Ranji Trophy Head Coach, and most recently coached the New Delhi Tigers in the third season of the Delhi Premier League. He also holds a Dronacharya award received in 2016 and was designated as the DDCA male representative to the Indian Cricketers Association Apex Body back in 2022.
Following his selection, Sharma expressed gratitude toward DDCA President Rohan Jaitley and outlined his vision for grassroots development and transparent player pathways. He emphasized a commitment to assisting both male and female athletes across club and state levels while drawing on the legacy of prominent local alumni such as Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rishabh Pant.
Jaitley likewise welcomed the inclusion, praising Sharma's prior contributions to regional cricket and his capability to strengthen the overall talent pipeline.
