Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion and record-holder with 14 French Open titles, has taken a significant step beyond tennis by joining Real Madrid’s board of directors. The announcement, made during a board meeting led by president Florentino Pérez, marks Nadal’s first official role at the club, though his lifelong support for Real Madrid dates back over a decade—including an honorary membership awarded in 2011.
As member No. 67,778, Nadal’s appointment reflects both his deep connection to the club and his ambition to contribute to another sporting institution he admires.
While the position is still pending ratification by the club’s General Assembly, Nadal has already expressed excitement through social media, framing it as a new chapter after retiring from professional tennis in October 2024. Beyond his playing career, which also includes two Olympic gold medals and 92 tour-level singles titles, Nadal’s move signals a transition into a leadership role that could further solidify his legacy in sports.
