Pauline Roussin-Bouchard birdies final three holes lead in LPGA event in Malaysia

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard surged to the top of the leaderboard at the Maybank Classic after finishing her opening round with three consecutive birdies, resulting in an 8-under 64. She currently holds a one-stroke advantage over Sophia Schubert and Miyu Yamashita, who both carded 65s.

Perrine Delacour and Charley Hull sit one stroke further back at 6-under. Haeran Ryu withdrew from the tournament prior to her start, while Yuri Yoshida opened with a 69.

The event at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club also featured an unusual sight when a large monitor lizard was spotted consuming prey near a water hazard.
