Panthers waive kick returner after costly muffed punt in Week 1 blowout

Following a lopsided 59-37 defeat against the Bears to begin the 2026 campaign, the Carolina Panthers decided to part ways with wide receiver and return specialist Jimmy Horn Jr. The former Colorado Buffaloes playmaker was placed on waivers after committing a critical mishandled punt during the opening-week rout.

Carolina utilized the vacated spot on the active roster to reinforce its run defense, bringing aboard linebacker Tyrel Dodson to bolster the front seven.
