NHL Central Scouting Has A New Ranking For 2027 NHL Draft, What It Means For Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks are struggling early in the 2026-27 season, falling well behind the playoff pace and potentially positioning themselves for another high selection in the 2027 NHL Draft. NHL Central Scouting recently released its initial watch list for that draft, featuring Michigan defenseman Landon Dupont as a top prospect alongside other A-rated talents such as Nazar Privalov, Alexis Joseph, Sergei Skvortsov, and Carter Meyer.

The list includes 27 total A-grade players, notably featuring Brantford Bulldogs goaltender Vilmer Salen Forsberg. While Chicago has historically relied on high picks like those used between 2022 and 2025, the team currently possesses established goaltending depth in Spencer Knight and Drew Commesso.
