New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions Inactives: Alvin Kamara is out

The New Orleans Saints will kick off their 2026 campaign on the road against the Detroit Lions without a key offensive contributor. Veteran tailback Alvin Kamara, initially designated as questionable before being downgraded ahead of kickoff, has been officially ruled out due to an MCL sprain.

Overall, New Orleans enters the Sunday clash at Ford Field with three players sidelined.

Meanwhile, the hosts will also be missing contributors for the opening week battle, with Christian Izien and Ahmed Hassanein declared inactive for Detroit, while questions linger regarding the availability of tight end Sam LaPorta. Elsewhere around the league, the Cleveland Browns face major adversity as Myles Garrett is scheduled to undergo an operative procedure that will sideline the defensive star for four weeks.
