In a game of stunning goals, Flamengo beat Grêmio and extend their lead

Flamengo widened their gap at the summit of the Brasileirão to six points after defeating Grêmio 3-1 on Wednesday. The victory keeps them ahead of second-placed Palmeiras, while Grêmio remains in the relegation zone for at least one more match.

The hosts dominated the first half, going into the break with a 3-0 advantage. Samuel Lino opened the scoring in the 20th minute following an assist from Arrascaeta, and Pedro added two more goals, the second coming from a rebound in stoppage time.

Grêmio, who deployed a largely second-string lineup, managed only a consolation free-kick goal through Amuzu in the second half.
