Mourinho keeps Clasico midas touch 13 years on as La Liga heats up

Jose Mourinho has revitalized his tenure at Real Madrid by securing a pivotal 2-1 victory against Barcelona. Kylian Mbappe proved the difference-maker with a brace that halted the hosts' nine-game domestic unbeaten streak and narrowed the gap at the top of the league table to three points.

This result marks a significant milestone for Mourinho, who joins Miguel Munoz and Vicente del Bosque as the only managers in club history to remain undefeated through six consecutive Clasico fixtures. Returning to the club 13 years after his initial spell, the Portuguese coach now holds an even record of six wins and six losses in this historic rivalry.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick acknowledged his side struggled with fatigue following a taxing schedule, noting that minor details ultimately determined the outcome of the contest.
