Despite sitting out the weekend with a scheduled break, the Georgia Bulldogs climbed to the third spot in the latest AP Top-25 and US LBM Coaches Poll. The team previously slipped from the top position down to fifth following a loss to the Auburn Tigers.
However, chaos elsewhere in the college football landscape during Week 8, including a dramatic overtime defeat for BYU against UCF and earlier struggles by Notre Dame, propelled the Bulldogs back upward. Miami maintained the top position after defeating Pittsburgh, while Ohio State moved up to second.
Looking ahead, the program prepares for a matchup against the seventeenth-ranked Florida Gators. The upcoming rivalry contest is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, hosted in Atlanta.
With this latest shift, three total programs from the Southeastern Conference now occupy space within the top ten of the national standings.
