Mohsin Naqvi not to attend Asian Games gold medal match between India and Pakistan

Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket Board leader Mohsin Naqvi will skip the upcoming Asian Games men's cricket gold medal showdown between India and Pakistan due to prior scheduling conflicts, according to an official announcement from the governing body. The decision averts potential ceremony tensions that previously surfaced during recent continental tournaments.

Naqvi conveyed his best wishes to all competing squads for both the gold and bronze medal fixtures. The bronze medal contest will feature Bangladesh against Sri Lanka ahead of the marquee final.

Following previous controversies involving trophy presentations, the official statement noted that existing obligations will keep Naqvi away from Nagoya during the weekend action.
