North Carolina enters this contest carrying a 2-1 record and searching for a strong performance from quarterback Billy Edwards, while running back Benjamin Hall aims to spearhead their offensive ground attack. Notre Dame arrives unblemished at 4-0 following wins over Rice, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Purdue. The visitors face several roster absences due to injuries, including questionable offensive lineman Owen Strebig alongside out players Matty Augustine, Brauntae Johnson, Jason Onye, Christopher Burgess Jr., Tiki Hola, Charles Jagusah, Chaz Smith, Chris Terek, and Quincy Porter.
