MLB playoffs 2026: Live updates, wild-card scores, highlights from every Game 1

The opening day of the 2026 Major League Baseball wild-card round is underway, featuring eight teams competing in best-of-three series across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Division winners in both leagues secured first-round byes, while the remaining contenders fight to advance.

Notably, the New York Yankees are playing without outfielder Aaron Judge as he recovers from a calf injury, leaving his potential return for the division series uncertain. Opening day coverage includes four matchups broadcast across NBC and Peacock.
