Middlesex upheaval grows as chair Richard Sykes reveals intent to resign

Richard Sykes has notified the Middlesex board that he plans to step down from his position as chair after completing a three-year tenure. Club members are expected to be officially notified about his exit in the coming days.

The development comes after sustained pressure from former players demanding his resignation, an effort spearheaded by ex-England and Middlesex skipper Mike Gatting.

Sykes's impending exit marks another significant administrative shake-up for the county side following the departure of Andrew Cornish. Cornish was ousted from his role as chief executive in June following an internal workplace conduct grievance, an accusation that he has firmly rejected.
