Michigan will see a freshman quarterback, Tommy Carr, make his first career start this Saturday at home. Carr replaces Bryce Underwood, a former five-star recruit, after leading a second-half comeback against Penn State where he guided three touchdown drives despite only throwing for 47 yards.
This transition comes as Michigan faces a ranked opponent in No. 6 Indiana, which is a 7.5-point favorite on the road.
Indiana enters the game looking to move past their first loss in two years, which occurred last week against Ohio State. That defeat was decided by a narrow margin after Nick Marsh failed to stay in bounds on a fourth-down catch from Josh Hoover.
The Hoosiers will now bring a high-ranking defense to the Big House to face a Michigan team that has struggled offensively.
