The Pittsburgh Steelers have scrapped their Steelers House fan gathering near the Bastille due to ongoing civil unrest in Paris. This cancellation follows a planned Saturday march at Place de la Bastille, though the team stated the decision was made after careful deliberation regarding the neighborhood's recent events.
Sunday's first-ever NFL regular-season game in Paris between the Steelers and New Orleans Saints will still take place at Stade de France in Saint-Denis. Located nearly six miles from the center of the city, the league is coordinating with the U.S.
State Department and local officials to increase security. Peter O'Reilly, an NFL executive vice president, confirmed that league personnel have been on the ground since early October.
