Miami Dolphins edge defender Chop Robinson has been officially sidelined for the upcoming Week 2 contest against the San Francisco 49ers after sustaining a concussion during Wednesday's training session. Head coach Jeff Hafley announced the decision on Friday while the club held practices in Napa, California.

The injury represents Robinson's third documented concussion in the NFL, depriving the defense of a key pass rusher for the Sunday afternoon kickoff.

The roster setback follows a difficult opening weekend in which Miami dropped a 27-13 contest to the Las Vegas Raiders, struggling to disrupt quarterback Kirk Cousins and contain the ground attack. Rather than heading home after that defeat, the league's youngest squad chose to remain on the West Coast, where Hafley and an unprecedented number of first-year players are working to regroup ahead of their matchup at Levi's Stadium.
