McGinn Gets 5.5, Gomes With 5 | Aston Villa Players Rated In Disappointing Loss Vs Barcelona

Aston Villa’s UEFA Champions League campaign suffered a heavy blow in their 3-0 defeat at Barcelona’s Nou Camp, as the Villans struggled to find their footing from the opening whistle. The hosts took an early lead when Lamine Yamal scored in the seventh minute, and though Villa made a few defensive stands, they were unable to prevent a second-half onslaught.

Raphinha doubled Barcelona’s advantage with a brace in the second half, sealing a result that left Villa’s hopes of a positive road showing in shambles. Among the standout performances for the visitors, goalkeeper Zion Suzuki made key saves but ultimately conceded all three goals, while midfielders Boubacar Kamara and Joao Gomes were among the few to offer glimpses of resilience, though neither could prevent the defeat.

On the right flank, Johan Manzambi made a couple of promising runs before being substituted, while left-winger John McGinn’s defensive work was notable, though he failed to contribute offensively.
