Mavericks vs Pacers Preview and Injury Update: Early game on Friday

The Indiana Pacers, currently 1-0 after a 123-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, host the 0-1 Dallas Mavericks on Friday at 6:00 pm CST. This matchup marks the home opener for Indiana and the first appearance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Tyrese Haliburton since he suffered an Achilles tear during the 2024 NBA Finals' seventh game, causing him to miss the entire 2025-26 campaign.

Dallas enters the contest missing Dereck Lively, Santi Aldama, Tarik Biberovic, and Caleb Martin, while Jett Howard is considered doubtful. Indiana will be without TJ McConnell, and the status of Ben Sheppard and Aaron Nesmith remains questionable.

The Mavericks seek to bounce back from a heavy loss to the Houston Rockets by improving their rebounding and transition defense.
