Marco Bezzecchi set the pace during Friday's practice session at the Australian Grand Prix, despite an early collision with Alex Marquez that triggered a red flag. The Aprilia rider ultimately clocked a best lap of 1m26.775s, finishing ahead of Raul Fernandez and Marc Marquez.
The session faced further delays when a wallaby wandered onto the track, forcing a second stoppage. Following the restarts, several riders traded top times before Bezzecchi secured the lead.
Alex Marquez ended the day in sixth after his own late-session fall, while championship leader Jorge Martin finished fifth. Further down the order, Enea Bastianini led the KTM contingent in seventh, and Pecco Bagnaia struggled to 14th.
Luca Marini was absent from the event due to illness.
