Marc Marquez wins prestigious sporting award

The Higher Sports Council has officially recognized Marc Marquez as the premier male athlete in Spain for 2025. This honor follows his dominant performance during the 2025 MotoGP season, where he secured his seventh premier class championship and his ninth overall grand prix title while riding for the factory Ducati squad.

His path to this latest accolade included 11 grand prix victories and 14 sprint wins, with the title-clinching result occurring at the Japanese Grand Prix. This achievement marks a significant return to form for the 33-year-old, who endured a difficult recovery from a severe arm fracture sustained in 2020 that required four surgeries.

Marquez previously received this national sporting distinction in 2014.
