2010 U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell has confirmed he will not continue with LIV Golf's proposed 2027 relaunch, concluding a four-year tenure with the breakaway league.
The Northern Irishman, who last represented the OKGC team in 2026, announced his departure on social media, expressing gratitude for his time on the circuit despite never securing an individual LIV title, with his best finish being a tie for second at the 2025 Virginia event.
McDowell's exit occurs as LIV Golf navigates a financial restructuring following the withdrawal of support from the Saudi Public Investment Fund and a subsequent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The league aims to restart in 2027 with a ten-event schedule split between the United States and international locations.
While McDowell has discussed potential talks regarding a return to the DP World Tour, where he holds 11 victories, the European circuit has stated it will not grant membership to former LIV players for the 2027 season, leaving his immediate future uncertain.
