Cincinnati Madeira junior Ellie Hartung capped off a standout two-day performance to claim the 2026 OHSAA Division II girls golf state championship. Shooting a 68 in the opening round, Hartung entered the final day with a three-shot lead, which she held off Kylie Miller of Garaway by three strokes after a 71 in round two.
Her total of 139 secured the title, marking Madeira’s first individual state champion since Eva Becerril of Sycamore in 2024 and the 10th Greater Cincinnati girl to achieve the feat. Meanwhile, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy’s Sophia Fink, a Division II runner-up in 2024 and 2025, finished fourth with a 146, while Madeira teammate Paige Grontkowski placed 35th with an 186 among other standout performances from the team’s roster.
On the boys’ side, Roger Bacon’s Division II team improved from seventh place last year to finish fifth overall with a 642, led by senior Blake Rohling, who tied for 11th individually with a 152. Wilmington’s Gunnar Martin also shone, tying for 13th with a 153.
The Spartans’ other contributors included Allister Fike (24th, 158), Henry Fulwiler (tied 36th, 166), Ty Dumont (tied 47th, 170), and Jude Voss (50th, 171). Columbus Academy’s girls team won the state championship with an 87-shot advantage over Chagrin Falls, while River View claimed the boys’ Division II title with a 600, ending Alter’s four-year streak as defending champions.
