Luca Marini declared unfit at Australian MotoGP, HRC without factory riders

Honda HRC faced a complete team absence at Phillip Island after Luca Marini was ruled out for the rest of the Australian MotoGP weekend due to a persistent viral infection and high fever. Medical evaluations on Saturday morning confirmed the Italian rider was unfit to compete following earlier struggles during Friday practice sessions.

This withdrawal compounds existing roster difficulties for the manufacturer, as Joan Mir remained sidelined by lingering health issues while test riders Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami were unavailable due to recent surgeries and injuries.
