Longtime NBA coach retires from JJ Redick’s staff as part of shakeups

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick is navigating multiple alterations to his coaching staff following the departure of longtime assistant Bob Beyer. Beyer has decided to conclude a distinguished career that spanned decades at both the collegiate and professional levels, leaving Redick without a trusted confidant who previously crossed paths with him during their playing days in Orlando and New Orleans.

In the wake of Beyer's unexpected retirement, the franchise announced a wave of internal promotions to fill the void. Greg St.

Jean has stepped up to a front-of-bench assignment, while Michael Wexler transitions into an assistant role after previously serving as head video coordinator. Additional elevations include Zach Guthrie moving up from the G-League affiliate to handle player development, alongside staff shifts for Drew Seifert, Gerdarius Troutman, Austin Pope, and Lucas Vargas.
