Lincoln win at Bristol City to haunt old boss Skubala

Lincoln secured a 1-0 Championship triumph over Bristol City, inflicting a bitter loss on their former manager Michael Skubala. The contest turned in the 53rd minute following a disastrous, under-hit back-pass from Rob Dickie; Ben House pounced on the stray ball to bypass stranded goalkeeper Sam Tickle and feed Freddie Draper for a simple finish into an empty net.

Following five first-half bookings, an early Lorent Tolaj header off the crossbar, and key interventions by Imps keeper George Wickens against Yu Hirakawa, Lincoln held firm. Dickie's difficult evening concluded on a stretcher due to a challenge from behind with 18 minutes remaining.

Both sides had adjusted their line-ups entering the clash, with the hosts introducing Dutch midfielder Gibson Yah for his home debut among three adjustments after a 4-1 setback at Southampton. The visitors rotated five players following their 1-0 victory at Preston, handing Chiedozie Ogbene his first league start in attack alongside Draper.

Despite Skubala turning to substitute Dom Ballard and Yah seeing an attempt blocked late on from a Rio Cardines set-piece, Lincoln protected their slim advantage to claim all three points.
