Tigers backed out of a Skubal trade with Milwaukee, per report

The Milwaukee Brewers nearly secured Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline, with the Tigers initially accepting a proposal in principle. The Brewers offered a package featuring Luis Pena, Jett Williams, and Josh Adamczewski, but the deal collapsed because Detroit insisted on acquiring pitching, specifically rejecting the inclusion of Logan Henderson.

Tigers executive Scott Harris ultimately pivoted to a different trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which brought Zyhir Hope, River Ryan, and Brady Smith to Detroit. Following the rejection, Milwaukee utilized their remaining assets to acquire JoJo Romero and Dustin May instead.
