Leics sign wicketkeeper Blake from Surrey

Leicestershire have brought in a new option behind the stumps by securing the services of Josh Blake from Surrey on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old spent four seasons as a professional at his previous club after previously working there as a community coach and rising through their youth ranks from age nine.

Blake made his List A debut in 2022 and followed up with a County Championship appearance in 2024, having also gained experience playing club cricket locally and in Australia. His arrival immediately follows the departure of veteran gloveman Ben Cox from Leicestershire, a squad currently waiting on the resolution of an appeal regarding a points deduction and relegation from Division One.
