LeBron James has confirmed that reuniting with the Cleveland Cavaliers was a serious option during his recent free agency decision-making process. The 76ers star, who is currently averaging 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and six assists per game, stated that he carefully weighed his options to determine the best path for the remainder of his career.
Philadelphia has started the season with a 2-0 record, including a 29-point comeback victory over Cleveland, a team that many expected to land him this summer.
Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson acknowledged the disappointment of missing out on James, describing the initial reaction as a form of depression after expecting the signing to go through. Despite the local interest, James has settled into a facilitator role in Philadelphia and appears content with his choice, with no indication that he is reconsidering his move.
