Fernando Alonso expressed frustration following a first-lap collision with Alex Albon at the United States Grand Prix. The Aston Martin driver claimed the contact caused significant damage that hampered his performance throughout the race, which he finished in 16th place.
Alonso criticized the driving standards of competitors in the lower portion of the field, specifically targeting Albon for the incident. Albon, who also sustained front wing damage, defended his actions and suggested the situation was a result of being squeezed between cars.
Despite the clash, Albon noted he enjoyed the wheel-to-wheel battle with the veteran.
