Knicks reportedly duped employees with championship ring email that was actually a phishing test

The New York Knicks organization has faced internal friction following their recent championship victory, as assistant coaches were handed empty ring boxes during the opening-night ceremony. While some staff members expressed frustration over the missing jewelry, the team has also indicated that many long-term employees will be excluded from receiving rings entirely.

In a separate incident, the front office conducted a cybersecurity exercise by sending a deceptive email to staff members regarding ring reservations. This phishing test was designed to evaluate the digital security awareness of personnel working at the arena.
