‘(Not) Just the Villain in the Caitlin Clark Story,’ ‘Actually Cover the Sport’ — Nick Wright Rips Media Coverage of Angel Reese, WNBA ‘Culture War’

Nick Wright criticized the media for prioritizing culture war narratives over the basketball skills of Angel Reese. He argued that while reporters often frame Reese as a foil to Caitlin Clark, they are ignoring her dominant play in the WNBA Finals.

This rivalry began in college between LSU and Iowa, and Reese previously played for Maryland.

Reese has recorded double-doubles in the first three games of the 2026 WNBA Finals against the Golden State Valkyries. After a 14-point, 12-rebound effort in Game 1, she posted 30 points and 16 rebounds in Game 2.

She then added 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 97-71 Game 3 win, giving the Atlanta Dream a 2-1 series lead. The teams meet again on October 24 at State Farm Arena for Game 4.
