Kent celebrate promotion by beating Gloucestershire

Kent secured promotion to Division One of the County Championship following an eight-wicket victory over Gloucestershire at Canterbury, a result sealed once their only remaining contenders, Northamptonshire, fell to defeat against Middlesex. Matt Milnes spearheaded the bowling attack with stellar figures of five for thirty-three as Gloucestershire folded for 241, despite a resilient 66-run knock from Kamran Dhariwal.

Chasing a target of 118, the victors reached their goal comfortably thanks to an unbeaten 49 from Sam Northeast and 44 from Zak Crawley, despite a couple of missed chances in the field earlier in the day.
